Can an Xbox 360 USB Flash Drive work with the Old Xbox 360?

I have a 20GB HDD for my Xbox and am planning to buy 2 memory units, but still won't have enough space for what I need it for. I want to know weather the USB Flash drives save memory on them on the old Xbox 360 Arcade (btw, don't say buy a bigger HDD because I cba) can anyone help?
